The Telepack is a Back Item from Spelunky 2. As an upgrade to the original Teleporter, It allows teleportation in 4 different directions.

Where to find

The Telepack is most commonly found in shops as the item itself with a base price of $10,800, or in a Mystery Box.

Like other items, it can also be found in crates or in the walls or floors of a level, in which it can be seen with either the Udjat Eye or Spectacles.

Beg also will also drop a telepack when killed.

Functionality

Teleport Functionality

Similar to the Axolotl, the Telepack lets the player teleport while in the air. To activate it, one must press the jump button mid-air, at which point it will teleport the player forwards, or in the direction they are holding.

There are two instances where the Telepack will attempt to save the player in the event of an emergency:

  1. When used, the Telepack functions similarly to the standard Teleporter, taking the player around 4-8 blocks towards the desired direction. If the player teleports into a wall, it will attempt to save them by teleporting them up to three blocks up onto solid ground. Otherwise, the player will be instantly killed after telefragging into the wall.
  2. If a user is about to get hit by an Arrow Trap or land into Spikes, the Telepack will automatically attempt to save the player from a grizzly death by activating. Note that if the Telepack does this with Spikes, the spikes in question that would have ended the player's run would then become covered in blood.

If a Four Leaf Clover is picked up, the Telepack will always teleport the player the max range of 8 blocks when activated, regardless of direction. This can give the Telepack some much needed predictability.

The Telepack is an extreme high risk, high reward item. Although the Telepack has the ability to teleport the player into areas normally inaccessible without Bombs or Rope while keeping the Spelunker's hands free for holding valuable resources like Pets or Idols, misuse of the Telepack or just being unlucky with it can get one killed instantly, ending their run.

The easy activation of simply pressing the jump button twice can lead to incautious players accidently activating the pack, potentially putting them in a dangerous situation or out right killing them.

Back Item Functionality

The Telepack is 1 out of 4 packs in the game. You cannot wear any other back item at the same time as the Telepack; attempting to wear another will only cause you to switch them.

As with all other "pack" items, the Telepack can also be set alight with fire or electricity, causing an explosion dealing 10 health points of damage. These triggers include shotgun pellets, torches, lava, Magmars, or any other powerful source of fire.

If the Telepack is sitting on the ground when triggered, it will teleport just before exploding.
