I'm tempted to say that Damsels are the only thing in the game that count as both a throwing item and a "creature," but I'm not sure if there's a significance: I think the Area 2 spear traps may only be set off by nearby creatures, rather than moving thrown objects. Am I remembering wrong? - E-mouse 16:17, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, you're nearly completely right if it were not for the explosive mode of the Red frogs (they cannot be harmed further after they are on a detonation fuse, and they can be thrown and damage enemies like the functionality of a bomb). Other than that, I haven't yet had a chance to test whether they (the ticking Red frog and the midair damsel) count as a "creature" for the purpose of spike totems.

--The Spike Totems are actually set off by a variety of things (like pots and some types of items I can't remember) and aren't set off for bats, for example (this would probably something that will be fixed though), so I wouldn't say a Damsel setting them off would be significant. Unless a regular item though, the Damsel can run around, and even damage/kill enemies if you're lucky, which is rather comical as she falls on them from ledges.

In general, is it more worthwhile to sacrifice a Damsel or to save her? If you save her, you get a handy throwing weapon for the rest of the level, and one extra heart at the end of the level. If you sacrifice her, you don't have to cart her around the level, which frees up a slot for a weapon. You also get a free piece of equipment for your first damsel, and a Kapala for the second, which can be almost as good as rescuing her, depending on how many enemies you usually kill.

So far, I have sacrificed damsels when I have acquired a shotgun or something else that carves a bloody swathe through the dungeon, or when I expect I can get a reward quickly, but I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to rescue them more often.--216.68.192.91 22:00, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Damsel spawn probability[]

What is the chance of a generated level containing a damsel? --130.245.23.64 19:21, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

Sloth[]

Shouldn't the secret damsel also be mentioned? Chimera-gui (talk) 21:51, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hah, I had no idea that was in the patch. I'll research it and add it to the page. // TenhGrey (talk) 02:59, February 12, 2014 (UTC)
