UFOs are a dangerous enemy found in The Ice Caves, Olmec's Lair, Neo Babylon, and Tiamat's Throne. An Alien pilot is always found within controlling the saucer.
They spawn naturally in The Ice Caves and Neo Babylon, but can also be spawned by Olmec during his third and final phase or by Tiamat.
Behavior[]
After taking 1 damage, the Alien Pilot loses complete control of their ship, which explodes with the force of a Bomb after hitting a floor or ceiling. Hitting the ship while it's in this state changes its trajectory instead of exploding it.
Otherwise, UFOs passively float around the area. If a Spelunker, Hired Hand, Olmite, or Lamassu is under them, they shoot a slow bolt of plasma that disappears after it hits something. It deals 1 damage to entities, destroys tiles if possible, and instantly blows up Landmines.
If UFO fired the projectile at a player or Hired Hand, the player will be blamed for any damage it causes an Altar or Shop.
If a damaged UFO falls for enough time, the Alien inside ejects from the ship and attempts to land safely with a Parachute. As with the Spelunker's parachute, it has a 2% chance of being a Golden Parachute that drops gold as the alien falls. If the alien doesn't escape from the UFO before it explodes, there is a 0.1% chance of the Parachute item itself dropping.
A frozen UFO does not explode when destroyed.
Strategy[]
- If a player steps on the left side of the UFO, it will fall to the right, while stepping on the right side will cause it to fall on the left.
- Spark Traps tend to send UFOs flying in chaotic and unpredictable directions. If in a position to quickly and safely dispatch of a UFO, it's best to do so before they cause any problems in the future.
