Laser Traps are a Trap exclusive to Spelunky 2, found in Neo Babylon.
Functionality[]
Laser Traps act identically to Arrow Traps, except that they can recharge after 3 seconds.
It shoots a laser instead of an Arrow, which deals 1 damage, disappears after hitting anything, and only falters the victim instead of stunning them. These lasers still hurt the player even if they're holding a meat shield (eg. corpse, Pet).
They don't ignite Backpacks or other flammable objects, but instantly explode Landmines, whether they're being held or not.
When in a good position, they can easily get the player into much more dangerous situations after faltering them, such as into Lava or a Spark Trap, or repeatedly harass them with chip damage as they pass back and forth through its line of sight.
Trivia[]
- The Journal entry for the Laser Trap used to have a typo, misspelling the world "triggered" as "trigged".
