Spear Traps are a Trap found in the Jungle.
They are a member of the Tiki Trap family, alongside Totem Traps, Lion Traps, and Frog Traps.
Mechanics[]
Spear Traps are the size of a single tile. When it senses an entity close to any of its sides, it extends a set of sharp wooden spears from that side, dealing 4 damage to anything it hits.
There is a delay of about 1.5 seconds between each stab, and the spears deal no damage while retracting. They have a shorter detect range than similar traps, only sensing entities less than a tile away from it.
With a Shield/Wooden Shield, no damage is taken if blocking a side of the trap, and the shield user is knocked just out of range.
Golden Idols in Jungle are defended by 8 Spike Traps. These traps can be intimidating, though there are a few paths that the spelunker can take to avoid being impaled:
