Log Traps are giant hazards occasionally found in the Dwelling, set up by Quillback to protect his Golden Idols.
Functionality[]
When the Golden Idol below the Log Trap is moved or the blocks holding the trap up are removed, the Log Trap will plummet downwards into where the Idol was. If the floor that the log trap is not thicker than two tiles, it will continue to fall through the floor until it hits a level that is three or more tiles thick.
Log Traps are indestructible, and can only be moved after their initial triggering by removing the blocks under it with bombs.
There are three types of log traps:
Strategy[]
- The player should always check if the ground below the Idol trap is thicker than two tiles, as if it is not, the Log Trap will go crashing through, potentially going through Dice Houses or completely demolishing Altars, angering the Shopkeeper or Kali respectively.
- The Log Trap also has the potential of soft locking the player; Although it will never spawn above the level exit, it may block the main path, forcing the player to use bombs to go around it or move it from their way.
