Description
Kingu is the boss of Abzu, the secret area in Tide Pool. She climbs along the wall above where the player spawns.
Kingu has a wooden platform on her shell just below her weakpoint. The player will need to drop down onto her from above; either by climbing up through the sub-level located in the lower part of Abzu, or by simply climbing up using rope or Climbing Gloves, or flying up with the Jetpack.
Her weakpoint is a single scale in the center of her shell. Under normal circumstances, this cannot be damaged, except by using Excalibur from 3-2. However, the scale can be chipped open without the use of Excalibur through use of bombs, allowing the player to (very slowly) whip her to death. Though it should be noted that this involves some carefully timed throws from the platforms atop Abzu, since bombs will not collide with her shell platform.
Kingu's pattern in battle involves periodically spawning other enemies present in Tide Pool, namely Jiangshi, Jiangshi Assassins, and Octopy. Kingu cannot damage the player directly.
Upon death, Kingu drops the Tablet of Destiny, which is an essential item to get the Qilin.
