Frogs are common enemies found in the Sunken City. They are deceptively dangerous, given the speed, range and unpredictability of their movement, and should be treated with care.
Frogs are presumed to be the mature form of the Tadpoles seen in the waters of the Sunken City. The garden-variety blue Frogs are slightly less dangerous than their volatile orange cousins. A significantly larger frog of goliath proportions also exists, spitting out Frogs at regular intervals.
Properties[]
When a Spelunker gets near a Frog, it attacks by jumping in their direction.
When in a 1 tile tall gap, Frogs opt to crawl through the space rather than jump through.
Frogs will eat Grub if one gets too close, and will do so as much as they please. They themselves, however, can be consumed by a Giant Fly.

Strategy[]
Although simple, Frogs can be tricky to deal with, as the height and length of a Frog's leap can be variable and random, and as with all other attacks that do not stun, momentarily falters the player for an entire 30 frames (half of a second).
Approaching Frogs means having to deal with the risk of its unpredictable jump. Being hit by a frog means taking the risk of being faltered long enough by them to fall into a dangerous situation, such as into Spikes or incomplete Regenerating Blocks.
Trying to jump over or stomp on a frog will backfire if it chooses to take a high arcing jump, but attempting to run beneath it as it leaps may also be dangerous if it jumps straight forward.
As with most enemies, the ideal solution is to dispatch a Frog with a ranged weapon or thrown items like a pot or rock.
