Falling Platforms, much like the Loose Platforms from Spelunky HD, are platforms that will fall after touched. They are commonly found within Volcana and The Ice Caves.
Mechanics[]
Falling platforms are unstable ledges that will fall straight down shortly after an entity stands on them or hangs on the side of them.
If a falling platform lands on a Robot, it will trigger it.
Falling platforms scale in damage with the further it falls. Falling platforms will deal 2 damage normally, and increase by 1 damage for every 8 tiles fallen. Once it falls for 24 blocks, it will add 2 more damage instead of 1. After falling for 32 blocks, being hit by the falling platform at this point will kill whatever is below it instantly.
Falling Platforms may be pushed by adjacent Push Blocks.
Tiles fallen | Damage |
---|---|
0-7 | 2 |
8-15 | 3 |
16-23 | 4 |
24-31 | 6 |
≥32 | 99 |
Bugs[]
With the release of version 1.20.1c, Falling Platforms would trigger from the slightest irritation, with items and even blood dropped from enemies causing them to fall downward. This was shortly fixed with the release of version 1.20.1d.
