Receiving The True Crown from Beg in The City of Gold.
Beg is a Quest NPC in Spelunky 2.
Quest[]
He will initially spawn at a Kali Altar after the player has previously destroyed one. When the player interacts with him, he will say a line of dialogue before tossing a Bomb Bag and teleport out of the level.
If the player curses themselves and encounters another Kali Altar while Cursed, Beg will appear again, dropping The True Crown for the player when they approach. Unlike his first encounter, he remains at the altar for the remainder of the level, and can be killed.
Notes[]
- Beg is Cursed in every encounter.
- Although most NPCs are, Beg is not immune to whipping, and can be easily killed by the player during his second encounter. If killed, he drops a Telepack.
- If attacked by anything prior to tossing a Bomb Bag in his first encounter, Beg will teleport away prematurely, voiding his quest. This can include traps or enemies.
- Unlike Leprechauns, Beg teleports entirely out of the level and cannot be interacted with after.
- Beg does not spawn on the Altar in Madame Tusk's Palace of Pleasure under any circumstances.
